Srila Prabhupada's Tirobhava Mahotsava
On November 14th Srila Narasingha Maharaja led the devotees at Govindaji Gardens in commemorating the 30th disappearance anniversary of Srila A.C. Bhaktivedanta Svami Prabhupada. Many devotees from Bangalore, Mysore and other nearby towns were able to come for the festival.

After bhajanas were led by B.S. Madhava Maharaja, Srila Narasingha Maharaja first spoke enthusiastically about the on-going seva opportunities at Sri Sri Radha-Damodara Temple in Vrndavana, that the devotees of our matha are involved in at present. He explained that it is only by the mercy of Srila Prabhupada that we have been granted this service in such a significant place. And also that this 'marriage' between Radha-Damodara Temple and the devotees of Sri Narasingha Caitanya Matha has also been due to the blessings of Srila Prabhupada. We now will permanently have devotees staying there to do seva. Srila Narasingha Maharaja also stressed that there is no point in going to Vrndavana unless one specifically has some service to do there for Sri Guru.

Srila Narasingha Maharaja, talked at some length about the unique nature of his Guru, how he was ever equipoised, equal towards all, never once showing any specific favor to any individuals or any group of individuals. In recalling Srila A.C. Bhaktivedanta Svami Prabhupada's final days, he never made mention to anybody of some special blessings or orders beyond what was given openly to all. "While you have life - preach", Srila Narasingha Maharaja drew out of that further, that actually "preaching gives life!" He then encouraged us all to preach as though our lives depend upon it.

Srila Narasingha Maharaja's class was followed by puspanjali to Srila Prabhupada, arati and a feast in Srila Prabhupada's honor.

In the afternoon the devotees were able to watch a short film from the sannyasa initiation of Srila Narasingha Maharaja, which was only recently found to have existed, which was very exciting for his disciples to finally see.

In the evening after Damodarastakam, at 7:20 pm (the time when Srila Prabhupada departed for the eternal lila of Sri Sri Radha-Govinda), arati was offered at Srila Prabhupada's puspa-samadhi and Srila Narasingha Maharaja led all the devotees in chanting the Holy Names. A very enthusiastic kirtana ensued, followed by prasadam.

Srila Prabhupada's Tirobhava was also observed by the devotees of the Kaliya-mardana Krsna Ashrama in Mulky.

Karttika in Vrndavana
On October 26th, Srila Narasingha Maharaja, accompanied by Haridasa Babaji Maharaja and a few other devotees arrived in Sri Vrndavana-dhama. The next eighteen days were spent in a most wonderful way: There was no better way than beginning everyday with Mangala-arati of Their Lordships Sri Sri Lalita Radha-Damodara, Sri Radha-Vrndavana-candra, Sri Radha- Cala-cikkana and following it with sankirtana-parikrama of the temple and samadhis of Srila Rupa Gosvami, Srila Jiva Gosvami and Srila Prabhupada’s rooms. Chief Minister of Karnataka Visits Govindaji Gardens
Just prior to briefly assuming office, former Chief Minister Yediyur Appa paid a visit to Govindaji Gardens. The Chief Minister took bath in the holy Kaveri River at the ashrama, had darshan of the Deities and took a tour of the ashrama.

Govardhana Puja at Govindaji Gardens
Asrama devotees, devotees from Mysore, Bangalore and Mandya gathered on the 10th November to celebrate Govardhana Puja. The morning was spent cooking bhoga for Giriraja, followed by lectures by Srila Visnu Maharaja and Giri Maharaja who spoke on the pastime of lifting Govardhana Hill, and the appearance of Govardhana as the son of Himavan, the king of the Himalayas.

Then at midday all the devotees participated in bathing Giriiraja with milk and rose-water. Giriraja was then returned to the main alter where He was decorated. At 1:00pm there was Govardhana-arati, followed by parikrama of Giririraja and go-puja. Fireworks were lit for the pleasure of Govardhana and the devotees. The program ended with the honoring of prasadam.

Govardhana Puja at Kaliya-mardana Krsna Asrama
At the Kaliya-mardana Krsna Asrama, devotees began in the morning with kirtana and a reading from Srila Prabhupada's Krsna book on the pastime of lifiting Govardhana Hill as well as a reading from Srila Narasingha Maharaja's article 'Worshipping Govardhana'.

As well as cooking a feast for the pleasure of Giriraja Govardhana, the devotees also made a gobar Giridhari Deity (a Deity of Krsna lifting Govardhana Hill made from cow-dung), decorating Him with cloth, flowers and colored powders. After the feast in the evening, there was a small fireworks display in honor of Giriraja's appearance.

Govardhana Puja at Prabhupada Seva Ashram, Como, Italy
Govardhana Puja was started by the devotee's cooking the bhoga feast for Giriraja in the early morning. When the cooking was finished, Jayadeva Prabhu gave a class on the advent of Giriraja, related the pastime of Krsna lifting Govardhan Hill, and spoke on the unique glories and pastimes of Giriraja.

Next, the abhisheka was held, and Govardhan was bathed with milk and rose water, accompanied by kirtan, and the singing of Sri Vraja-dhama-mahimamrta.

After this, the bhoga offering was made to Giriraja, and Bhativinode Thakur's Sri-Bhoga-aratika was sung by Bhakta Priya Dasi. Then the aratik to Giriraja commenced, followed by parikrama of Govardhan, along with chanting and dancing. Finally the devotees honored the maha-prasad of Giriraja with great joy.

Srila Sridhara Deva Gosvami Maharaja Avirbhava Mahotsava
On Saturday November 3rd, devotees celebrated the 110th appearance of His Divine Grace Srila Bhakti Raksaka Sridhara Deva Gosvami Maharaja. At Govindaji Gardens, after puspanjali, Giri Maharaja spoke on the advent of Srila Sridhara Maharaja, his search for a spiritual master, his meeting with Prabhupada Sarasvati Thakura, his joining the Gaudiya Matha and his sannyasa and preaching activities thereafter.

At the Kaliya-mardana Krsna asrama in Mulki, devotees also celebrated Srila Sridhara Maharaja's appearance with guru-puja, class and a feast.

Karttika Masa
The most auspicious month of Karttika, also known as Damodara Masa, began on 26th October. During this month devotees offer lamps to the Deities and sing the Damodarastakam prayers. Srila Sridhara Maharaja describes the month of Karttika as follows:

"This is a special month in which we shall try our best to cultivate all of our feelings and regulate them for the attainment of our intimate connnection with Krsna. By investing our energy even in a small way during Karttika we can get more results."

The Philosophy of Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu — Gosai Publishers presents a new book entitled 'The Philosophy of Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu'. Compiled by Advaita Acarya Dasa, this book delineates the position of the Vedic scriptures, the disciplic succession, Lord Krsna, the jiva-soul, Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu and the Holy Name. With 38 pages and six chapters, 'The Philosophy of Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu' is an excellent introduction for newcomers to the sublime teachings of Gaudiya Vaisnavism. Available in India only.

Radhasthami 2007

Sri Sri Gaura-Radhika-Madhava were dressed in Their new srngara on Radhasthami.

Swami B G Narasingha spoke on the song composed by Srila Rupa Goswami, Radhe Jaya Jaya Madhava Dayite.

Srila Rupa Goswami Samadhi & Bhajan Kutira Reconstruction Update
The renovation of Srila Rupa Goswami Prabhu's samadhi has finally been completed at Sri Sri Radha-Damodara Temple in Vrndavana. The samadhi is now clad in beautiful sandstone which will last for centuries. As one can see from the photos, the samadhi looks exquisite.

Further projects that will follow the renovation of the bhajan-kutir will be as follows:

* The construction of a kirtana hall between the bhajan-kutir and the samadhi.
* The complete monkey proofing of the entire courtyard.
* Decorative gardens around the entire compound.
